Brian
'Toolbox' O'Toole
Brian O Toole has been a full time bass guitarist in Dublin
for fourteen years.
Largely self taught, Brian did receive tuition for two years
from Hugh Buckley
at the Senior College in Ballyfermot. He has played with numerous
singer
songwriters who have passed through the Dublin scene including
Hazel O Conor,
Mundy and Paddy Casey.
He released
singles in Ireland and England with Liam Coade. In 1999, he
played bass for the ESB Millennium Drum Carnival where he
first experienced playing bass with traditional Irish music.
He subsequently toured in New Zealand in 2000 with traditional
Irish group, the 'Big Jigs' and went on to join De jimbe in
2001. He has played with De jimbe on their first trip to New
York and Senegal.
Brian also teaches bass privately and tours with the tribute
bands Abba and The Boogie Allstars.
